"The fans who turn up and watch are happy and to give someone's day if they see us competing there and to ask us queries - it's more like the joy of us having a place we can enjoy football, with structure of course."

So great is the bench strength at the club, he made his debut at defender.

"It's a little unusual but then, I enjoy running and just go inside - I'm not staying back that much," he added.

"I warn my defender 'I'm not hanging back' and that I'm just going to continue attacking.

"That running is what I'm looking for. It's enjoyable."

"I felt I was a little starstruck facing him to be honest.

"Also Heskey got on and he's has over 60 English appearances.

"We held our own for a solid twenty mins but then we had a player dismissed and it was hard.

"Our group literally have not stopped talking about it - I was calling my mum and sibling on the way home.

"The opponents were all really nice, shaking our hands after the game - it was like facing a group of regular fellas.

"Now we are eager for the second fixture."
